Various known latitude/longitude positions relevant to the upset of Air France Flight 447 on June 1, 2009 have been plotted to Google Earth using KML elements. A KMZ file was generated containing the information, and it can be downloaded and imported into Google Earth. By using Google Earth to visualize known positions, it is possible to create hypothetical event scenarios in 3D space. The known track of the aircraft is drawn at altitude FL350 (10668 meters). The location of the search vessel SEABED WORKER is placed at sea level. Concentric rings are placed at 10 nautical mile increments radiating from the Last Known Position of Flight 447 at 0210z on June 1, 2009. For reference, the excellent chart by mm43 created April 2, 2010 and posted to PPRuNe (#650), is scaled and overlaid onto the ocean surface. Also, the BEA search status chart of 17 May, 2010 is overlaid.
